Hydration vs Moisture

Hydration vs Moisture

You may often hear the terms "hydrating" and "moisturizing" when it comes to skincare, but is there a difference? And if so, what does it mean for your skincare? Keep reading to learn all about hydration vs. moisture and what we recommend!

Hydration vs Moisture

Hydration

Hydration refers to water. Hydrating products add or attract water to the skin, providing more water to keep your skin healthy. Hydrated skin has sufficient water in the skin cells making your skin plump, smooth, and elastic!

Moisture

Moisture refers to oil. Since oil repels water, applying an oil-based product helps lock in moisture by serving as a barrier, preventing water from leaving your skin while also shielding your skin from environmental stressors. Moisturized skin has the ability to retain its hydration when exposed to the elements.

Give Your Skin Both!

Our Essence and Moisturizers work in tandem to keep your skin both hydrated and moisturized. Simply mist your face with either our Calming or Renewing Essence, followed by our Seeds of Today, Evening Enrichment, or Minimalist Balm to lock in the hydration!
